Financial Aid Workshop
These workshops are offered at the beginning of our program and also at the end of our program. It’s also a primer on loans, grants, work study and scholarships.
Camp College for Students
A short, motivating glimpse into the future for 8th and 9th graders.
SAT I Writing Prep
This clinic is provided four times each year both live and in webinar format. One of the most difficult parts of the SAT I Writing Test is the 25 minute essay, so we place an emphasis on essay writing skills. After teaching this course for 10 years, Ardeth has become an expert on making this part of the test user friendly. This class is taught four times a year and clients may attend as often as they choose. Students should bring a pen and a positive attitude!
Write it Right!
Our admission essay writing clinics are offered in the summer between the student’s junior and senior year. Our best-of-the-best workshop Ardeth will ask students to erase what they learned about essay writing in her SAT I Writing Prep clinic because admission essays are so unique and totally different. Students have a reading assignment before the session begins; books with assignments will be sent in June to registered students. There are also homework assignments between classes. This class is taught in a snappy, conversational tone with great anecdotes about former students and how they developed their essays. These have become standing room only phenomena, and the results speak for themselves!
Navigating the Application Process
This is a much appreciated workshop for parents and students and helps relieve the high stress level before the application process begins. This two hour session gives students and parents information about state school applications and private schools applications, written submissions, recommendations, supplemental materials and much more will be carefully explained and discussed. Fees, waivers, testing, transcripts, interviews, deadlines, stretch schools and safety net schools are just some of the topics that parents and students will learn about in this two hour session.
Everything But the Kitchen Sink
This workshop covers everything that you need to know in the final step of the application and admission process and financial aid process. After attending this session, one of our clients remarked that there was so much information that it included everything but the kitchen sink! It became the title for this important session. This is a fun event and you’ll not want to miss it.
